The Juniper Sling recipe created for luxury perfumer Penhaligon's by Zachary de Git of Singapore´s one and only Tippling Club is a true piece of craftsmanship. Designed on the fragrance's actual flavor chart and served in a Penhaligon bottle placed in a Penhaligon gift box, this liquid jewel does prove that perfume and cocktails really do mix, when in the right hands - Zachery´s hands. And those have chosen Monkey 47 to be the center piece of this unique interpretation of the classic Singapore Sling. This unique recipe is a true treasure and really worth to try. Add 30ml Monkey 47 Gin, 10ml Mathilde Crème de Cassis, 5ml Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge, 15ml Lemon Juice, 10ml Raspberry Gomme, 3 Raspberries and 3 pieces of 1 x 1" Honey Pineapple into a Boston Shaker. Shake until well chilled. Strain into Juniper Sling Bottle, put in stopper and serve in scented Juniper Sling Box. Sounds easy? Not really because every drink can only be as good as its ingredients which is why Zachery uses homemade raspberry gomme for his creation. Gomme syrup is a drink sweetener that was commonly used instead of simple syrup in many classic cocktails. The advantage to using gomme syrup is that, especially in heavy-alcohol cocktails such as many of the classics, it adds a silky texture and softens the alcohol's flavor. It also prevents the syrup from crystallizing. For the Tippling Club Raspberry Gomme you need to add 200mg Fresh Raspberries, 600mg Caster Sugar, 600mg Mineral Water and 15gm SGA7C Methyl Cellulose into a Thermomix. Blend for 8 minutes on speed 7. Pass through a super bag, vacuum and allow to rest overnight in order to hydrate. Bottle and keep refrigerated. Not easy but quite worth the effort. Cheers!
